Every year in the early spring the fur trappers would return to Fort Vancouver to trade their furs. The encampment was also a time of catching up with family and friends before heading back out for more trapping in the wilderness that was the Pacific Northwest. The trappers were a colorful lot, very French, and very friendly and outgoing. Fort Vancouver puts on a terrific series of reenactments throughout the year that are great fun and educational for all ages.
