Brigade Encampment - June 2007 : Every year in the early spring the fur trappers would return to Fort Vancouver to trade their furs. The encampment was also a time of catching up with family and friends before heading back out for more trapping in the wilderness that was the Pacific Northwest. The trappers were a colorful lot, very French, and very friendly and outgoing. Fort Vancouver puts on a terrific series of reenactments throughout the year that are great fun and educational for all ages.

Fort Vancouver - September 1846 : Fort Vancouver, Washington occasionally puts on demonstrations/re-enactments that are open to the public and free of charge. This particular event was a re-enactment of what occurred at the Fort in September 1846 after an American navy ship, the USS Shark, that had been at the Fort for a month sank in the mouth of the Columbia River. The events depicted at the Fort represent those activities involving mounting a rescue and salvage party.
